What is Life With an Iguana Like?

enter this section He is cute ... can I get one? — Iguanas at this age are without a doubt cute. I mean this poster did not have a frame and he would climb up my curtains and jump to that poster and lay on it for hours. Unfortunately we also had our first tail accident during this stage. You can see the shortened tail clearly in this picture. Although iguanas can regenerate their tails they never look as good. If you look closely at other photographs on this page you can see what the tail looks like after it grows back. Learn about my life with Q as a baby in this section.

enter this section Wait ... you don't want me on your clothes? — During Q's teen years I discovered I was not the only person out there with a pet iguana (I found the internet!). We did a lot of moving when Q was growing up but I thought this was a good thing. My iguana books had said iguanas don't like change, but we moved every year for most of his life so Q never seemed to have a problem with the process. However as part of one of these moves Q's growth was stunted. Although some people have questioned me about his small size (and I am sure held it against me), Q has always been healthy. Learn how his growth was stunted in this section.

enter this section Ahhhhh - Now This is Iguana Heaven! — Here is Q relaxing in my bedroom on his favorite stuffed Dolphin. I know you are thinking that iguana is spoiled! My family says the same thing. But I ran into many problems with Q as he entered adulthood. I realized life with an iguana was not as easy as I thought it would be. But I always think about how many unwanted iguanas there are and realize that I made this choice (so I am sticking to it). Take a look in this section to find out about my life with an adult iguana.
